TFH at the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover

Turning For Home heads to Lexington for the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover—an annual showcase proving what Thoroughbreds can do beyond the finish line. TFH alumni and their riders will compete across ten disciplines (from Eventing and Show Hunter to Barrel Racing and Dressage), demonstrating the trainability, heart, and intelligence that make retired racehorses exceptional partners.

This year’s contingent includes Kingsville—our beloved “war horse”—joining a group of TFH graduates who have transitioned from the Parx backstretch to second careers. Throughout the week, our team will be ringside to support horses and connections, share rehab and retraining pathways, and highlight how our racetrack-based program moves horses responsibly from intake to new homes.
