We take in over 30 Thoroughbreds every month, and every horse has a story, a starting point, and potential. Whether you’re seeking a future show partner, a quiet trail horse, or something in between—we’ll help you find the right fit.

Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Tell us what you’re looking for by submitting our Adoption Application. The more detail, the better.
ā
Step 2: Our Partner Farms will contact you with horses that match your goals, skill level, and preferences.
ā
Step 3: You can schedule a farm visit to meet the horses—or adopt sight unseen if you're confident. You're welcome to bring your trainer and vet.
ā
Step 4: Want a pre-purchase exam (PPE)? Just let us know. We’ll help you schedule it.
ā
Step 5: Once you’ve chosen your horse, you’ll finalize the adoption with the Partner Farm and arrange pickup or shipping.

Step 6: Take your new Thoroughbred home—and know that you're never alone. Every TFH graduate is Backed for Life and can return to our network at any time, for any reason.
Adopting a Thoroughbred Through Turning For Home
At Turning For Home (TFH), we partner with experienced and trusted farms to help Thoroughbreds retiring from Parx Racing transition into second careers and safe homes.
If you're interested in adopting, please complete our Adoption Application and provide as much detail as possible. This helps our Partner Farms match you with horses that fit your experience level, goals, and location.

Our adoptable Thoroughbreds range from:

Every horse is evaluated for health, temperament, and second-career suitability by experienced professionals.
Trial Rides & Adopter Experience
Trial rides may be permitted at the discretion of the Farm Manager.
This decision is based on your riding background and whether you’re working with a trainer.
Ownership with Lifetime Protection
Right of First Refusal
If you ever need to rehome a TFH horse, we or our Partner Farms must be given the first opportunity to bring the horse back.
